Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

Lunacle (the "App") is a tarot app provided by 株式会社メディアリープ ("we"). This privacy policy explains what information the App handles, for what purposes, and how we manage it. Please read it before using the App.

The App works without a user account. As a result, our servers keep no per-user records (see "3. Data sent for AI readings" and "9. Retention and deletion").

2. Information we handle and why (overview)

The table below lists the information the App handles. Items marked "device only" are stored solely on your device and never sent to our servers.

Profile (name, gender, zodiac sign, daily focus)
We store your name (nickname), gender, zodiac sign and daily focus on your device. Of these, your name and gender are sent to our server when you request an AI reading, so the reading can address you naturally. Your zodiac sign is sent to fetch horoscopes.
Questions, drawn cards, spreads, and chats with readers
Sent to our server (Microsoft Azure) to create AI readings (next section).
Spread history, journal, favorites, points, Lunacle Plus status, settings
Stored on your device only, never sent to our servers. Deleting the App deletes them.
Purchase and subscription information
Payments are processed by the App Store or Google Play (we never handle your card details). RevenueCat, the subscription service we use, processes an anonymous app user ID, device identifiers, and purchase status to verify your entitlements (https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy/).
Server operation logs
When you use features, server logs (IP address, date and time, etc.) may be recorded automatically, and used to prevent abuse and keep the service stable.
Notifications
All App notifications (daily card reminders, etc.) are local notifications configured and shown on your device. You can manage the permission in your device settings.

3. Data sent for AI readings

When you use an AI reading, your question, the cards drawn, the spread you chose, your conversation with the reader, and the name and gender from your profile are sent to our server (Microsoft Azure) to create the reading. The sent text is used only to generate the reading through our AI text service (Azure OpenAI).

The first time you use an AI reading, the App shows an "AI Data Processing" notice and asks for your consent. You can change this at any time in Settings ("AI Data Processing"); turning it off stops any further sending for readings (AI-generated readings, including free ones, will no longer be created).

We do not store the sent information linked to anything that identifies you. After a reading is returned, the content sent for it is not retained. Server operation logs are deleted after a retention period (as a guideline, about 90 days).

4. Information the App does not collect

  • Location (moon phases and horoscopes do not use your address or location)
  • Contacts (address book or email access)
  • Photos, camera, microphone (photo avatar selection is not implemented)
  • Advertising identifiers (ad IDs)
  • The App does not include third-party advertising or analytics SDKs.

5. Sharing

Links shared from the App (via social apps or messages) contain only generic identifiers such as card, spread and zodiac sign names — nothing that identifies you. Sharing goes through your device’s standard share sheet, and you choose the destination.

6. Purpose limitation

We use information only as needed for the purposes above. If we need to change a purpose, we will not use the information beyond a reasonably related scope, and will revise and publish this policy.

7. Provision to third parties

  • Reading requests are passed to Microsoft (Azure / Azure OpenAI) to generate the reading text.
  • Purchase information is processed by the App Store, Google Play (Apple Inc., Google LLC), and RevenueCat.
  • Apart from these cases and disclosures required by law or necessary to protect life, body, or property, we do not provide information to third parties.
  • We do not sell your information, and we do not jointly use it with third parties.
  • If our app business is transferred through a merger or acquisition, information may be succeeded to the extent needed to operate the business.

8. Where data is processed (international transfer)

The cloud services we use (Microsoft Azure, RevenueCat, etc.) are not necessarily located in Japan; information may be processed and stored outside Japan, including in the United States. These providers protect data under their own privacy policies.

9. Retention and deletion

  • Information sent for AI readings is not stored linked to you after the reading is returned. Server logs are deleted after a retention period (as a guideline, about 90 days).
  • Information on your device can be deleted by deleting the App or clearing the App’s data in your device settings.
  • Purchase records are managed by the App Store, Google Play, and RevenueCat under their own terms and policies.

10. Security measures

Communication between the App and our servers is encrypted with TLS (HTTPS). We limit access to the information we handle and take other necessary and appropriate measures against leakage, loss, and damage. However, we cannot guarantee the complete security of internet communications.

11. Minors

The App is not directed at children under 13. If you are under 18, please use the App with the consent of a parent or legal guardian. Guardians should also review this policy for their children’s use.

12. Your rights and requests

For questions about this policy, or to request disclosure, correction, addition, deletion, suspension of use, or suspension of third-party provision of your data, please email info@media-leap.com. Depending on the request, we may ask you to verify your identity (your device or purchase history). We aim to respond within about 30 days, at no charge. Note that because our servers keep no per-user records, the scope of such requests is mainly limited server-side logs; device data can be deleted by you at any time.

13. This page and other websites

This page (lunacle.media-leap.com) uses no advertising or analytics tags (cookies etc.). Our corporate website and other sites have their own privacy policies.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes are announced on this page; material changes are also announced in the App or on this page before they take effect.
